BSc (Hons) Ost, RGN
June Jowitt qualified as an osteopath from the British School of Osteopathy in 2000. She uses a broad range of osteopathic techniques including structural and cranial approaches to treatment.
June has a special interest in treating babies using Cranial Osteopathy. When babies are born they can be subjected to enormous forces, twisting and turning as they squeeze their way out to the outside world. She can help to relieve these pressures using gentle manipulation on baby’s head and spine. Cranial Osteopathy can relieve a number of problems for baby such as feeding troubles and unsettled and griping symptoms. June’s gentle skills will help your baby to calm itself and become more relaxed. She won’t push or pull but rather feel for tension in the tissues and then hold the tissue in a way that the body wants to go until it releases.
June also enjoys helping provide relief to the elderly patient suffering from more chronic and arthritic conditions. She can give advise on pain relief and lifestyle management, as well as exercise, nutrition, education and manual therapy to improve the quality of life for arthritis sufferers. Her treatment aims to reduce the pain, decrease joint swelling, increase mobility and improve joint stiffness, particularly in the morning.
